DVDdude.net has entered the world of Podcasting!
Our Podcast reviews will make it even easier for you to learn about upcoming and existing releases.
Because of the increased bandwidth Podcasting places on DVDdude.net, I would really appreciate it if you would click-through the links to Amazon.com and purchase a couple of movies. Doing this will not cost you one extra penny above Amazon's prices, but the commissions earned will help to pay for this site. Thanks!
::1/24/06 - The Island
January 24, 2006. Watching a movie should not be a painful experience, and yet Michael Bay manages to make it just that with every film. I thought that it could get no worse than Pearl Harbor. I was wrong. In this podcast review of The Island, I take a break from the overall positive reviews I have been giving in order to rip into a film that thoroughly annoyed and irritated me to the point that I just wanted to shut it off and walk away. But I suffered through it for you. Listen to this podcast, or read the full online review.

::12/30/05 - Serenity
December 30 , 2005. In 2002, Fox premiered a new science fiction show called Firefly. Due to several corporate blunders (such as running episodes out of order and constantly changing the broadcast night), Firefly never found an audience and was cancelled barely half-way into its first season. Undaunted, creator Joss Whedon pursued resurrecting the show and the result was a feature film called Serenity, which may very well be the most entertaining science fiction film since the 1977 version of Star Wars. ::11/27/05 - War of the Worlds
November 27, 2005. It seems as though Hollywood has a facination with the H. G. Wells classic story, War of the Worlds. Whether we're given versions that directly attribute the book as the sourse, such as the 1953 film, or simply not-so-subtle variations of the story, like Independence Day or Mars Attacks, it seems that every few years someone, somewhere, decides to take a stab at it. Now Steven Spielberg enters the fray with his own interpretation of War of the Worlds. Does he remain faithful to the Wells version? ::11/16/05 - Raiders of the Lost Ark
November 16, 2005. Most of the time these podcasts will focus on upcoming or recent releases. Every once in a while, however, I'll dig into my collection to look at a film that has some meaning for me -- either something I love, or something I hate. Either way, something I think is worth talking about. In today's show, I'm discussing a film that I have seen more than any other movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark. ::11/05/05 - Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
November 5, 2005. Star Wars. Two simple, little words. And yet those words have become iconic in motion picture history. Finally, George Lucas calls his story complete with the release of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. It is the most visually spectacular of all the Star Wars films, and it showcases the much anticipated fall of Anakin Skywalker, and his rebirth as Darth Vader. In Lucas' own words, this film bridges the gap between the prequels and the original trilogy. Does it succeed? Listen to this podcast to find out, or read the full online review.
