Questions? Comments? Fan mail? Hate mail? Drop me a line and let me know what you're thinking. The only thing I ask is that you be polite, or at the very least, civil. Abusive, threatening or otherwise offensive e-mails will be turned over to the ISP from where the mail originated - or, at the very least, they will face ridicule here on this site.
Due to the scum-sucking, putrid and vile examples of human excrement known as spammers, there is no direct e-mail address link. However, I trust that those of you who aren't spammers (and therefore have reasonable intelligence and worth) can figure out the address below:

Any mail sent to the DVD Dude is fair game to be posted to this site. All mail will be copied and pasted directly - no editing - so keep that in mind and do your own editing before hitting "send." E-mail address will NOT be reprinted and names will be withheld upon request.
This is a letter I received from Scott Phillips, the screenwriter for the popular (but hard to find) Mark Dacascos film, Drive:
Hey Robert --
Thanks for the great review of Drive! I posted a link to your site on my weblog.
It's very gratifying to hear that you get a lot of email about theflick. As of now, I have no idea who owns the video rights to Drive -- A-Pix released it in the US, but they filed for bankruptcy a couple years ago. Don't know if they still hold the rights or not. I keep hoping that Mark Dacascos's growing popularity (or Brittany Murphy's, for that matter) will inspire someone to release the special edition over here. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Cradle 2 the Grave will give Mark a real boost -- for my own selfish reason as well as for the fact that he deserves it!
I do know that the UK special edition has sold over 100,000 copies, which is astounding. And I've seen copies of the US DVD going for over $50 on eBay. Insane. It seems like someone (Blue Underground or Anchor Bay, to name a couple) would catch on to this and take a stab at getting a domestic release of that special edition.
If anything changes, I'll let you know. Meanwhile, good luck with the site, and thanks again!
yer pal --
Scott
Thanks for the kind words, Scott! Drive certainly is a great martial arts flick and I hope to see a better (or at least a more widely available) version of it out soon.
-- Robert
